Sipson
Sipson escorts in UB7, the rooms behind the northern edge
Sipson is a few hundred metres of lane with a very large number of beds on it. The village itself is small and ordinary, and it happens to sit directly behind the northern edge of the airport at the point where the motorway junction feeds in, which is why almost every room within a mile of the boundary is either on this lane or on the road it joins.
If you have been given an address in UB7 with a village name you have never heard of, this is probably it. The full scale is on the board of rates, and the board shows who is out this way tonight.

Where the lane actually goes
North from the northern edge road, past a row of houses, a shop or two and a pub, and out towards the junction. Five minutes on foot covers the residential part. Everything else on the lane is a place to sleep, which is what it exists for.
What that means in practice is that a guest here is three minutes from the boundary fence and still on a street where the loudest thing after midnight is the motorway in the distance. It is not pretty and nobody claims it is. It is well placed and genuinely quiet, which matters more at one in the morning.
Getting in and out of UB7
By road this is the best connected address on the map: two minutes to the junction, five to the central terminals, eight to the western one. Anything arriving or leaving by motorway comes past the end of the lane.
On foot it is the worst. The nearest platform is West Drayton at twenty eight minutes, the next is Hayes and Harlington at thirty two, and the walk to either runs beside roads that were built for freight. Every companion working this lane comes by car for exactly that reason.
Working guests and the day before
The business estates a few minutes north are the reason half these rooms are full. Meetings there finish at six, the room is booked the day before rather than three weeks out, and the evening is decided somewhere between the last slide and the car park.
That shape suits the desk well. A message at half past six with a building and an hour is entirely normal here, and the reply usually comes back inside a few minutes with a name and an arrival window on it.
What an evening here looks like
Indoors, and comfortable. There is a pub on the lane and very little else, so the honest plan is an early table if you want one and the room for everything after it. Nobody should book a UB7 evening expecting to go out into it.
What the lane does give you is time. Nothing is far, nothing takes long to reach, and the whole booking is spent where you actually are rather than in a car. Bianka prefers later starts out here and says so; Luna works the hotel row from ten at night.
Who books on this lane
Consultants and sales teams in for two nights. Engineering crews on rotation. Travellers whose connection collapsed and who were put here by somebody else, arriving slightly annoyed and with no plan at all.
The last group is the one the desk sees most often, and the shortest booking that makes sense out here is three hours, because her journey is counted inside the figure. That is on the rate board rather than a surprise.
Companions who cover Sipson
Bianka, Luna and Vanessa all work the northern edge, which puts the lane three minutes from their usual ground. Molly comes across from the old western road and is the one to ask for an early evening rather than a late one.
Liana and Tiffany cover the village on the other side of the junction, and Nancy and Tina take any part of the airport at any hour, including the awkward ones. Seven realistic names, and booking sets out what the first message needs in it.
The ground either side
West across the junction is Harmondsworth, which kept its green and its barn. East is Harlington and its churchyard. North is West Drayton, the nearest town with a platform and a late table. The northern hotel row runs along the boundary below the lane, and the central pair of terminals is five minutes away by road.

Asked about Sipson
Usually near twenty minutes, because the northern edge is her home ground and the junction feeds straight onto it. Twenty to forty is the honest window and this address sits at the short end of it.
Her journey is counted inside the figure rather than added to it, and an hour of booking for half an hour of road serves nobody. The whole scale is published, so nothing about that arrives as a surprise.
Routinely, and most guests here do. A message at half past six with a building and an hour is entirely normal, and the reply carries a name and an arrival window back inside a few minutes.
A pub on the lane, and that is close to the whole list. Eat early or arrange it into the room. Fifteen minutes north there is a town with a high street if the evening is long enough to justify the car.
Whichever you actually have. If you are still in the air, the flight number lets the desk work out the hour itself. If you are already in the room, an hour and a building is faster.
Two notes from this part of the map
A day of business that never leaves the airport
Hotel boardrooms beside the terminals and along the Bath Road let a client fly in, meet and fly home without leaving the airport. Choosing the building by terminal, and the evening for whoever stays on.
