Travel companion, from the lounge to the next city
Some guests arrive at this airport and some leave through it with somebody. A travel booking is a companion who is on the itinerary rather than waiting at the other end of it: the lounge, the flight, the two or three days in another city, and the return leg if there is one.
It is the format that needs the most notice and the most honesty about dates. The published ladder still governs the hours on the ground, and a weekend or longer is quoted on application rather than printed. Start on rates for the shape of it, and look at the line-up for who is realistically free.

What a trip actually involves
You arrange and book the travel and the room in advance, in her own name, and you tell the desk the itinerary rather than the plan. Departure, return, city, and whether the days are yours or hers. She needs her own room key in her own name even where the booking is a single suite, and that is not negotiable at this desk.
From there it is straightforward. She meets you at the terminal or at the hotel the night before, and the rest of it runs as a long booking rather than a series of short ones.
What a trip does not become is an open arrangement. The days are agreed in advance and written down in the confirmation, including the hours that are hers rather than yours, because nobody spends four days pleasant company without some of it being her own time. A morning to herself in a city she has never seen is the usual shape of that, and it makes the evenings considerably better.
The airport half of it
Starting a trip from Heathrow is easier than starting one anywhere else in this country, because the four terminals sit inside one postcode and the inter terminal train is free and takes about four minutes. A companion who comes to the hotel the night before is at the gate with you in the morning without anybody crossing London at six.
The exception is Terminal 4, which is on the far side of the runway with a station that shuts early and no night service at all. Departures from there want an overnight nearby rather than an early arrival from town, and the desk will say so rather than let you discover it.
Documents, and what the desk will not do
Every companion here travels on her own documents and arranges nothing through this desk beyond her time. Bookings for the flights and the room are made by you, in advance. The desk does not hold travel arrangements and names no method for anything. The figure for her hours is handed to her in person as it is on any other booking.
If a destination needs more than a passport, that is your arrangement to make and hers to accept or decline. A companion may say no to a trip for any reason and does not have to give one.
Short hops and long weeks
A day return to another European city is a long booking with a flight in the middle of it and is usually the easiest version. Two or three nights is the common shape. Anything past a week is rare and is arranged slowly, because it takes somebody out of her own life for a fortnight by the time the travel is counted.
For a stay at this end rather than a trip away, the format on long layovers and extended stays is the one to read instead.
Who is used to this
Laura lives beside the airport train and is comfortable in a terminal at any hour, which is more than half the skill. Milena is fluent, considered and unbothered by a long flight. Patricia has a genuine liking for early mornings, which matters more on a trip than it does on an evening.
Violetta takes bookings abroad and is precise about dates. Several of the statuesque and thirties profiles suit a business trip particularly well. Ask the desk early: a trip is the one thing here that cannot be arranged the same night.
Notice and changes
A fortnight is comfortable, a week is workable, and anything inside three days is unlikely unless a diary has just come free. Give the desk the dates before you book the seats rather than afterwards, and it will tell you who can genuinely hold them. A seat bought against a name that was never confirmed is an expensive way to find out that she is working that week.
Cancellations on a trip are handled in the same spirit as everything else on this site, with the terms set out on booking, except that anything already arranged in her name is your arrangement to unwind rather than the desk's.
